Artistic Vision
Working without a predetermined outcome, I build paintings through layers of color, texture, and mark-making. Rather than creating literal representations of a place or object, my work explores the relationship between instinct, memory, and visual balance. Organic forms emerge naturally throughout the process, inviting viewers to discover their own associations within the abstract compositions.

Gold as Connection
Every painting begins with a thrifted canvas. I look for pieces with strong texture, interesting surfaces, and good bones. A fresh layer of spray paint creates a clean slate while preserving the texture underneath, giving the new work depth from the very beginning.
The first layer establishes the foundation. Broad shapes and bold colors are applied intuitively, creating movement, balance, and direction. At this stage, the painting is less about the final image and more about creating a framework for what will emerge.
Additional layers bring the painting to life. Shapes are refined, colors become richer, and relationships between forms begin to develop. Through layering, editing, and adjustment, the composition gradually reveals itself and finds its own rhythm.
The final details create connection and energy. Gold markings trace boundaries, highlight movement, and emphasize relationships between forms. These finishing touches add luminosity and help unify the composition while inviting closer inspection.
